CrystalLens is an AI-powered crystal and mineral identification app for iOS. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use CrystalLens.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

Apple ID Data: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address (or a private relay email if you choose to hide your email). We use this to create and manage your account.

2.2 Photos

Crystal Photos: Photos you capture or select from your library are uploaded to our servers for AI-powered crystal identification. These images are stored securely in Cloudflare R2 cloud storage.

2.3 Usage Data

Scan History: We store records of your crystal identifications, including results and timestamps.
Collection Data: Crystals you add to your personal collection are stored in your account.
Grid Data: Crystal grids you create and save are associated with your account.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect location data
We do not collect device identifiers for tracking
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs

3. How We Use Your Information

Crystal Identification: Your photos are sent to the Anthropic Claude API for AI-based mineral identification
Account Management: Your Apple ID information is used to authenticate and manage your account
App Features: Your collection, scan history, and grids are stored to provide core app functionality

4. Third-Party Services

CrystalLens uses the following third-party services:

Anthropic Claude API: Crystal photos are sent to Anthropic for AI identification. Anthropic Privacy Policy

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers, R2, and Turso database)
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
Photos are stored in Cloudflare R2 with access restricted to your account
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app
When you delete your account, all associated data — including your profile, scan history, collection, grids, and uploaded photos — is permanently deleted within 30 days
Data sent to third-party APIs (e.g., Anthropic) is subject to their respective retention policies

7. Children's Privacy

CrystalLens is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete the data.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: View your data within the app (collection, scan history, grids)
Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen
Data Portability: Your scan results and collection data are accessible within the app
